Riversoft SAM User Group 2004 : Apr 18, 06:00 AM

I left Thursday to fly to Orlando for the 2004 edition of the Riversoft SAM user group meeting. I believe this is the fifth year that I have attended the meeting. The event was as pleasant as usual, aside from some coture difficulty involving the implantation of a shiny metal fastener from a bathroom stall into the fabric of my shirt near my right kidney.

At the end of the friday portion of the meeting, Riversoft usually provides an open bar by the pool, and this year was no exception. A wonderful surprise, however, was the arrival artist Rob Smith Jr.. Rob and his compatriot had been assigned the ardious task of supplying interesting caricatures to our assembled collective of “geek” multitude. The work you see in this post is the result of a short conversation with feather-hat festooned Rob regarding my plans for world domination. I realize that the Nixon quotient may have to be revised, but one can only hope that the great one had the fortitude to be secretly preserved by the fine people at Alcor.

Our flight was late, then delayed. I finally arrived home safe and fell to bed at 1:30 AM. A good weekend, and I’m certainly glad that I have Sunday to rest and reflect before tackling some pesky DNS problems monday morning.
